Colors Look & Feel

Riverboat Drawing

Here's a riverboat I drew. I gave it a story-book look at feel that will appeal to both adults and children.
I think it would look nice with red, white, & blue colors as the main colors. For extra interest and color, we could add colorful painted or decorated fish to the river.
Schools of fish, particularly Walley, Sauger, and Perch, are know to gather in the Mississippi River.

The longer the float, the shorter the boat will look. I've drawn up a boat that represents 40 feet long by 14 feet tall. 

Components to make the boat work
Electric motor to rotate the paddle wheel. Something like this hooked to a car battery (or two) ought to work.
​Pulley drive with a belt. Depends on how the shaft is designed and how heavy it is.

Fog Machine - or something to make the look of steam

Colorful fish for the River

Fish could be made our of cardboard and painted or decorated in fun colors including silver and holographic.

Ideas for the Days of '47 Float Preview Party

We could display a large story book with the page opens to a story of the Mississippi Saints.

Fun activities for the kids to participate in at the Float Preview

Here are some potential Ideas:
• Go Fish game for kids
• Coloring page from the Mississippi Saints story book
• Activity page with a word search or maze. There could be some fun facts about the Mississippi Saints. It might be fun to have a search and find activity. For example;
Find the funniest fish on the float
Find the most colorful fish
How many stars can you find on the float?
